KEBBI state Government to reform Educational sector

He Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, has
stated that his administration will introduce reforms
in all levels of education in the state to address
inherent problems in the sector. The governor made the statement on Saturday in
Birnin Kebbi in his address at the celebration of the
25th anniversary of the creation of the state. He said that education was the bedrock of
development hence the resolve of his
administration to rejuvenate the sector. Bagudu decried the poor quality and attitude of
some teachers in public schools. He said that some
of them have fake certificates while other does not
attend classes. He said that government would constitute a
stakeholders “consensus committee’’ on
education, adding that government would also
declare emergency on education. Bagudu announced that his administration would
recruit more teachers, provide equipment for the
schools and improve teachers’ welfare. He said that the anniversary calls for joy and
regrets due to the glaring realities on ground
especially the state of education in the state. (NAN)
